Draft Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union

On March 19th, the European Commission published the draft agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

The draft agreement determines the transition period of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, as from the date of entry into force of this agreement, which shall end on December 31st, 2020.

During the transition period, the United Kingdom will continue being subject to EU regulations as all the other member states of the European Union.

British and EU citizens who respectively arrived to the EU or to the United Kingdom during the transition period will benefit from the same rights as those who arrived before the day of Brexit, on March 29th 2019.
